Grimsby RUFC have recently set up a girls section based at Springfield Road, which currently comprises of two girls teams at Under 14’s and Under 17’s age groups and are actively trying to promote girl’s Rugby in the Grimsby area. We have an enthusiastic nucleus of players, and are hoping to expand our squad by attracting new players to come down and join us. We are also in the process of organising a schools tournament, which we hope will draw in new players and boost our squads. We are not entered into any local leagues at the moment, but we have friendly games pencilled in with other local girls teams, and we are hoping to take a squad of players to the North East of England in May, to participate in a Rugby festival hosted by Newcastle Falcons.
